This page explains how RUNKS collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when users access or use the RUNKS mobile application and related services.
RUNKS (“the App”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is currently in a pre-creation stage. The legal entity operating RUNKS has not yet been incorporated. Certain corporate details are therefore provided as placeholders and will be updated once formal registration is completed.
1. Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the RUNKS application worldwide. It is intended to comply with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA, and requirements of third-party platforms such as the Garmin Developer Program.
2. Data Controller
At this stage, RUNKS is operated as a pre-creation project.

3. Categories of Data Collected
- Email address, name or pseudonym, profile photo, date of birth, sport type or discipline.
- Sports and activity data imported from third-party platforms, including GPS routes, distance, elevation, duration, heart rate and activity metadata.
- Technical data such as device information, log data, and app usage data.
4. Source of Data
Personal data is collected either directly from users or imported through authorized third-party integrations such as Garmin Connect. Users explicitly authorize such imports and may revoke access at any time.
5. Purpose of Processing
- Providing and operating the RUNKS application
- Displaying rankings, results, and performance comparisons
- Enabling community and social features
- Producing aggregated and anonymized statistics for institutional use
- Improving and securing the application
- Managing subscriptions and premium features
6. Legal Basis for Processing
- User consent
- Performance of a contract
- Legitimate interests related to service improvement and security
- Compliance with legal obligations
7. Third-Party Integrations (Garmin)
RUNKS integrates with the Garmin Connect API. Data imported from Garmin is used solely to provide RUNKS services. Personal or sports data is not sold or shared for commercial resale purposes. Users may disconnect Garmin at any time via their account settings.
8. Data Sharing
Personal data may be shared with other users where profiles, rankings, or results are public, with service providers acting as processors, and with institutional partners only in aggregated and anonymized form. We do not sell personal data.
9. Advertising and Partnerships
RUNKS operates on a freemium model and may offer premium features, partnerships, or targeted advertising in the future. Any targeted advertising will comply with applicable laws and will be transparently disclosed to users.
10. Data Hosting and International Transfers
Data is hosted using Supabase and may be stored in Vietnam or any other jurisdiction where legally permitted. Where data is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses are applied when required.
11. Data Retention
Personal data is retained for as long as necessary to provide the services or comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may evolve as the service matures.
12. Security Measures
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures, including HTTPS encryption and access controls, to protect personal data.
13. Data Breach Response
In the event of a personal data breach, RUNKS will assess the impact and notify affected users and relevant authorities when required by law.
14. User Rights
Depending on jurisdiction, users may have rights to access their personal data, rectify inaccurate data, request deletion of their account and personal data, and object to certain processing activities.
15. Minors
RUNKS may be used by minors participating in sports activities. Use by minors is subject to parental or legal guardian responsibility and consent, in accordance with applicable laws.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Users will be informed of material changes through the application or other appropriate means.

Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how you can request deletion of your RUNKS account and/or personal data.
RUNKS (“the App”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is currently in a pre-creation stage and may evolve over time. If you have any questions, contact us at christophe@runks.app.
To request deletion, please email christophe@runks.app with the subject line:
RUNKS Data Deletion Request.
1. What you can request
- Account deletion: deletion of your RUNKS account, including profile and identifiers.
- Personal data deletion: deletion of personal data associated with your account, to the extent legally permitted.
- Disconnection from Garmin: revocation of Garmin Connect access to stop future data imports.
2. How to request deletion
Please send an email to christophe@runks.app with the subject: RUNKS Data Deletion Request.
In your email, include the email address used for your RUNKS account, your request type, whether Garmin Connect should be disconnected, and any optional details that help locate your account such as your username or pseudonym.
3. Identity verification
To protect users, we may ask you to verify ownership of the account, for example by replying from the same email used to register or by providing additional verification information.
4. What happens after your request
- We confirm receipt of your request by email.
- We process your request within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days.
- We notify you once deletion is completed or if we need additional information.
5. Garmin Connect disconnection
If you previously authorized Garmin Connect, you can stop future data sharing by revoking access in your Garmin account settings. You can also request us to disconnect the integration by emailing christophe@runks.app.
6. Data that may be retained
We may retain limited information where required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including security, fraud prevention, record-keeping, and dispute resolution, and only for as long as necessary. Where possible, retained data will be minimized and/or anonymized.
